Where and when do we need you?

Fair Ways currently have exciting opportunity for a cleaner to join our education team based at our school site in Fareham. This role will be paid at between £10.06 and £10.56 per hour working 10 hours throughout the week outside of school operating hours. In addition to these core hours there would be a requirement for ‘deep cleaning’ each half term for around 5 hours.

As a cleaner with Fair Ways you would be involved in the following:

  • Carrying out a range of defined cleaning duties within the school in line with agreed procedures and standards.
  • Ensuring the safe use of required chemicals and cleaning materials following Health & Safety guidelines, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Operating cleaning equipment and machinery following Health & Safety guidelines and using approved cleaning materials in accordance with manufacturers printed instructions and COSHH Regulations.
  • Managing your own workload effectively ensuring that all tasks are fulfilled within required timeframes.
  • Key holding responsibilities requiring candidates to have an honest and reliable character.

The hours will be worked throughout the week and specifics can be discussed at interview however there will be a requirement to attend the site each day. Hours will be term time only (excluding deep cleans) due to the nature of the setting.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways. 

Desirable…. but not Essential

  • Previous experience of working as a cleaner within an educational setting
