Where and when do we need you?
Fair Ways are looking to recruit a team of flexible and adaptable Multi-Site Children and Families Support Workers to provide full time relief cover across all our services. The successful candidates will work across multiple sites and will provide support to our services when they need it most. As part of our team, you will deliver the highest standards of care, protection and support to our children, young people and vulnerable adults across all of the different sectors of our organisation.
As a Multi-Site Children and Families Support Worker, you will be involved in a huge range of exciting and rewarding things whilst supporting in:
- Residential Children’s Homes - Contributing towards the maintenance of a positive, safe and homely environment within our residential service, including the promotion of a warm and accepting atmosphere, where the safety and care of young people is paramount.
- Residential Family Centre - Observing, assessing, and monitoring the health, development and emotional well-being of parents and children, by promoting high standards of physical care, hygiene and safety for residents.
- Fostering - Providing daytime and evening respite to Foster Carers by taking the child/young person into the community for 1:1 support sessions.
- Residential Mental Health Homes - Analysing and therapeutically managing behaviour that challenges resulting from complex needs and formulate plans to reduce the likelihood of future similar events.
- Independent Supported Living - Encouraging the development of independent life skills for post-16’s within a therapeutic caring environment. Interacting with young people and managing complex behaviour.
- Outreach - Providing flexible support in the family home and/or community to service users with disabilities, complex health needs and behaviour that challenges.
- Contact - offers a safe and supervised environment allowing families to work towards re- establishing relationships following a breakdown or separation.
- Education SEMH/ASD - Supporting the needs of our 3 specialist school sites providing support to students both onsite in lessons and offsite in exciting activities.
This role is offered on a 37.5 hour per week basis and will be undertaken on a 6 week rolling rota including weekends. The working location and pattern of this role will be reactive to meet the changing needs of each service. Our services are based around the Solent and also Wales. Rotas will be offered a minimum of 6 weeks in advance but are subject to change. 1 sleep per week will be expected as part of your role and additional sleeps will agreed and paid in addition. Mileage will be paid for travel undertaken as appropriate.
All candidates must have a full driving license and have access to the use of a car. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.

Whilst we value the knowledge and understanding that experience and qualifications can bring, we also know that some of our best people have come to us from unrelated backgrounds. - Previous experience of working with young people and/or adults with health/social care/educational needs
- A Level 3 qualification in childcare, social care, or another related discipline
