The team

The leadership team shapes, defines and sets the strategy of the business, in the form of our VOS (Vision, Objectives, Strategies) to deliver for our customers, talented team and shareholders. Then creates the right conditions for the organisation to deliver the strategy, supporting our leaders with the necessary resources and skills to be effective.

The role

Reporting to the CFO & COO, and as part of the leadership team, you will join the business initially in the role of Deputy Company Secretary, with a view to learning more about the GBG business whilst preparing for transition to Company Secretary as part of our leadership succession plan. Ultimately, you will lead the Company Secretariat function, partnering with and advising the Executive and Board to ensure compliance with all associated matters. We champion team members working from wherever, whenever so we're open to location for this position. 

What you will do

  • Creates and leads a governance structure which efficiently and effectively manages the business, including all commercial / international subsidiaries
  • Guides and shapes discussions on governance matters at the most senior level, occupying role of trusted advisor to the Board
  • Takes responsibility for the effective management, delivery and smooth running of all Board matters, Committees and meetings
  • Leads an engaged team of company secretariat professionals, ensuring that people management practices are role modelled within the team
  • Ensures compliance with relevant statutory requirements and regulations in place, advising the Board on upcoming changes to Codes of Practice
  • Partners with the CFO & COO to deliver all shareholding matters and records, including internal share options schemes
  • Responsible for all required PLC

To be successful, we're looking for 

  • A qualified Co Sec professional, with significant experience in an PLC and international environment (especially Americas / APAC)
  • Outstanding organisation skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities across varied jurisdictions
  • Ability to identify key governance issues, providing an analytical response with a commercial / pragmatic lens
  • An experienced people manager, of remote multicultural teams
