We are currently seeking to recruit an ambitious lawyer to join our Charities Team operating from the Cardiff office this opportunity is flexible with regards to location and can be based in any of our offices (Cardiff/East Midlands/London). This role presents a fantastic opportunity for you to grow and develop your career within a top-ranking charities team. You will be filling a key role in an expanding team, reporting directly to the Head of Charities and a Senior Associate with potential for career progression.
As recently reported in Legal 500, Geldards has a “strong team” of charity law specialists. We continue to be the only Legal 500 tier 1 ranked firm for Charities and Not for Profit in Wales. We are the go-to team for pure charity law matters in Wales and we are regularly instructed by some of the most high-profile charities and not for profit bodies in the country.
We’re flexible on the location of this role however you will be part of a team based in the Cardiff office who already work in line with the firm’s agile working policy. You will be advising charities and not-for-profit organisations on their formation, legal structure, all property matters, Charity Commission registration, mergers and reorganisations and also providing ongoing regulatory and governance advice.
The ideal candidate will have NQ-3 years’ PQE, or equivalent with CILEx qualification, within a charities team. Equally you may be someone who has experience in several areas, including corporate, probate and/or trusts, or commercial property and are now seeking to develop a specialism in charity law.
You will need to work well as part of a team managing several high-profile clients, but also be adept at managing and prioritising your own matters and workload. You will be encouraged to use your own initiative, but knowing when to seek support from senior members of the team.
