We are currently recruiting for our Geldards Public Sector Team in England. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team that is growing and expanding whilst maintaining the level of service and support that has allowed us to be ranked prominently in both Chambers and in the Legal 500.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high ranking team and provide quality legal advice and support to local authorities and other public sector clients on a wide range of matters relating to property, planning, procurement, commercial and local government law.
Geldards are proud to be on a number of public sector legal panels including EMLS and NWLC and the work upon which we are instructed is stimulating and challenging, which is why we are looking to expand the team.
Working within the core public sector team you will have the opportunity to work independently with your own caseload; as well as part of the wider team and other specialist departments who are there to help and support.
With a background in Public Sector or Commercial Property law; either from a law firm or as an in-house lawyer; you will have the opportunity to bring you knowledge and your passion of the public sector to work. With a variety of work on major projects across the country you will have the opportunity to not only get involved through the team in the office; but also to visit clients in their locations and find out more about how they work and the challenges that they face to ensure that you have the right priorities when it comes to supporting them. With the help of the team and the other departments this will allow you to deliver comprehensive legal advice to our many clients.
Who we want to see:
We are looking for commercial property lawyers who are enthusiastic and are passionate about being part of a team dedicated to growing our client base and providing first class legal support to the public sector. You will already have experience of working either within a public sector legal team or within a law firm acknowledged for its work in the public sector

What you’ll need to succeed
As a minimum you need to have experience of giving legal advice to officers in public sector organisations and preparing legal documentation using precedents. You should also be able to demonstrate an interest in developing inter-disciplinary legal skills. You must also be prepared to assist with our client relationship and training programmes
