Solicitor - Construction - Midlands

We are currently seeking to recruit an ambitious Solicitor to join our well-regarded Construction Team in the Midlands; led by Chris Hawrylak one of the Legal 500 Leading Individuals.

Your role will be primarily based in our Nottingham and Derby offices, although you will be part of a National team. The team encourages a mix of office and remote working to suit individual and team needs.

The position is mainly project based / non-contentious work with the opportunity to get involved in a large / complex disputes.

The team advises a wide range of clients (see below examples) including central and local government, contractors, developers, construction professionals, funders and banks. You will work closely with Chris and other members of the team but will also be given responsibility for running your own case load with appropriate level of support.

  • Construction of Nottingham College’s new £58.5m state-of-the-art City Hub.
  • £200 million redevelopment of a large and prominent but neglected site in Derby City Centre.
  • c.£34 million water park development in Derby.
  • £30 million renovation of Nottingham Castle.
  • Design and build contracts and associated documents for a developer on two funded deals with value in excess £100 million.
  • Advising a national contractor on the DfE’s modern method of construction (MMC1) framework worth £2 billion.
