Finance Officer
Base: Bradford (Hybrid)
Hours: 35 hours – Temp to Perm
Salary: c.£32,000.00 pa
We are looking for an organised and customer focused Finance Officer to join our Finance team. This is a varied role with responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of purchase ledger, sales ledger, rent ledger and cashbook transactions, ensuring the smooth operation of key financial processes across the organisation.

Working closely with colleagues, suppliers and external agencies, you will play an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, resolving queries and supporting the delivery of an efficient finance service. What you’ll be doing
Purchase Ledger
- Process purchase invoices accurately, ensuring correct coding, approval and payment in line with agreed terms.
- Verify invoices against approved purchase orders and delegated authority levels.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies.
- Resolve supplier and internal queries efficiently and professionally.
- Prepare weekly BACS payment runs in accordance with financial controls and procedures.
- Review aged creditor balances and clear outstanding items.
Rent Ledger
- Support the accurate processing of tenant payments and rent transactions.
- Upload Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and Supporting People payment schedules.
- Process rent account adjustments and reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve rent account queries from colleagues and external agencies.
- Carry out regular rent ledger reconciliations and clear outstanding items.
Sales Ledger
- Raise sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure VAT is correctly accounted for.
- Undertake debt collection activities in line with organisational policies.
- Produce aged debt reports and management information to support monthly reporting.
General Finance Support
- Assist with cashbook maintenance and reconciliations.
- Support the wider Finance team with ad hoc duties as required.
- Ensure compliance with financial procedures, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You will be a Finance Officer, Accounts Assistant, or equivalent, with experience in a small to medium Finance team who takes ownership of issues and sees them through to resolution. Works effectively under pressure. Is approachable, personable and customer focused. Experience in housing, property, not for profit or another regulated environment would be helpful, but we are also interested in people with transferable experience and the right mindset.
