About the Role

  • The role will entail lecturing, module leadership, year tutorship and placement supervision in a variety of equine health, performance and rehabilitation related subject areas.
  • Planning, designing, and delivering inclusive teaching on equine science related modules, alongside assessing students and providing feedback on both academic and practical skills of Undergraduate and Postgraduate modules.
  • Engaging with scholarly activity, applying this to teaching, supervising student research projects and other opportunities for knowledge generation, exchange and transfer.
  • Teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities make use of our extensive equine facilities, which include the Equine Therapy Centre, Rider Performance Centre, championship arenas, and the equine yard. This provides stabling for over 230 horses.

 

About You

  • A strong background in equine health, performance and rehabilitation, utilising relevant scientific principles to underpin the highest equine welfare, performance and management.
  • A passion for educating, influencing and enabling the next generation of equestrian enthusiasts to add value to the equestrian industry, nationally and globally.
  • You will demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and team working skills, along with the ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines.
  • Highly motivated, self-reliant and enthusiastic and passionate about delivering the highest quality of teaching, learning and student experience to undergraduate students.
  • You will have a postgraduate qualification, ideally doctorate level, in the field of Equine or related subject areas.  You will hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
