About the Role:
- Leadership and day-to-day management of the Equine Centre yard staff, including supervision, development and performance management
- Sourcing, managing and monitoring loan horses to ensure suitability for teaching
- Oversight of Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) student yard duty, ensuring high standards of training and support
- Management of the Student Livery Yard, providing a positive and professional experience
- Ensure compliance with British Horse Society (BHS) licensing requirements, Equine Residential Standards (ERS) Council standards and relevant National Equine Welfare Council (NEWC) guidance
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of equine welfare, biosecurity and yard management practices
- Complete and maintain all relevant Equine Centre administration, records and documentation associated with the role
- Out of term time, working alongside the events team, be responsible for the planning and management of horse stabling and allocation for commercial bookings
About You:
- Practical experience in equine yard management and horse care
- A good understanding of health and safety, equine welfare and industry best practice
- An effective leader, with experience of supervising, motivating and developing staff
- Excellent organisational skills and is able to manage competing priorities in a busy yard setting
- Proactive, solutions-focused and confident making decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong administrative skills and is confident maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Holds relevant equine qualifications and industry knowledge appropriate to the role
