About the Role

We are looking for someone new to work with us as a casual member of staff at the University Learning Hub within the library.

Working with our HE students, term-time only, in the evenings and/or weekends. Potential working patterns may include shifts made up of any of the following: weekday evenings 4pm-9pm, and/or weekends 10am-5pm, to be discussed at interview.

This role will include:

  • Supporting students with issuing and returning books on our kiosks
  • Assisting with locating resources and some student enquiries
  • Shelving books and shelf tidying
  • Assisting students in borrowing laptops
  • Monitoring student behaviour and ensuring the ULH is a welcoming and safe working environment so that students are able to work effectively

              

About You

We for looking to develop a team of casual library assistants to work in our new University Learning Hub Library who can show they have the following skills:

  • Attention to detail
  • Reliability
  • Confidence to help with a range of student enquiries, and be approachable
  • Able to show good levels of literacy and numeracy
  • Being proactive in managing your workload
  • A methodical approach to their work
  • Some library experience would be beneficial, but full training will be given.
