Overview – about the role:
Hartpury is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Rugby to lead and manage the overall rugby programme across Hartpury University, College, and Hartpury RFC covering men and women. This pivotal role encompasses leadership, performance management, player development, and strategic planning to ensure the rugby programme continues to thrive at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the strategy for the rugby programme, including operational management, recruitment, financial oversight, and coach development.
  • Lead the men’s and women’s rugby pathways, ensuring the athletic and academic development of student athletes.
  • Manage a team of coaches, fostering a high-performance culture across all aspects of the programme.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including internal and external partners, to enhance player experience.
  • Oversee the recruitment of top-quality players and ensure the alignment of the rugby programme with Hartpury's vision and values.
  • Develop a challenging and competitive playing programme, ensuring player feedback and development.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in rugby management and leadership, with a track record of success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with key stakeholders and represent Hartpury externally.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and drive commercial success.
  • Passion for rugby, education, and player development.
