About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse or Paramedic to contribute to the provision of an integrated, effective and professional wellbeing service for Further and Higher Education students.

As a Registered Nurse, your role would include:

  • Support the health, wellbeing and safeguarding of our Further and Higher Education students
  • Provide nurse appointments and wellbeing checks for students
  • Support the Residential Support Team regarding health and wellbeing concerns
  • Liaise with external support agencies directly involved with students care
  • You will provide practical support and assistance to staff raising concerns as well as delivering training workshops and awareness raising sessions.
  • You will support the Head of Safeguarding and Wellbeing and Assistant Head of Health to ensure that Hartpury fulfils all of its statutory duties with regards to the safeguarding of children and adults at risk.
  • You will work with both internal teams and external agencies.

              

About You

  • You need to be a Registered Nurse with an active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and work as a Nurse in the UK. You must hold a BSc Degree in Nursing Studies and have a good understanding of physical health and illness.
  • Work within NMC code of conduct
  • Experience of managing a demanding caseload and working with external agencies
  • Have a good understanding of Safeguarding and to recognise safeguarding concerns. To follow the correct process to report and record concerns
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in partnership with other team members and external agencies
  • Passionate about supporting young people to succeed and overcome challenges
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with students and staff
  • Experience in undertaking complex physical health assessments and care planning collaboratively with young people and their families
  • A non-judgmental approach when working with students and have great empathetic skills
  • A great understanding of confidentiality and the challenges that can arise when working with young people
  • The ability to stay calm and think quickly in challenging circumstances
