End User Computing Configuration Analyst

Howdens Joinery are looking an End User Computing Configuration Analyst, with the core skill being Application Packaging, required to support a Windows 10 landscape across 750+ locations within the UK and Europe.

Within a complex, Microsoft Windows & 365 enterprise infrastructure environment, you will work within a team to package and deploy many applications ranging in size, nature, and complexity to multiple office locations across the UK and Europe. Application discovery, pre-packaging testing and documentation will need to be completed prior to the deployment to ensure minimal downtime for the enterprise user base.

The deployment of applications will consist of building and maintaining installation packages, performing initial testing and full functionality sign-off for the Window OS platform before a controlled release into business-standard builds.

You will be comfortable creating a modern desktop build and update as required. Additionally, you will be able to adapt quickly to the processes and procedures which exist within the team to respond quickly to change requests and additional packages as new projects come online and move forward.

You will be part of the decision-making process for the technical solutions associated with the end-user technology landscape, aligned to the wider design, where security and compliance factors have been given full consideration. As required, you will be work directly with the end-users.

Finally, the role requires a well organised individual with strong attention to detail, self-starting, and excellent team and communications skills.

Skills and experience required:

Typically, 3 years of professional experience in the below specialist areas:

  • Demonstrates a specialist technical capability in Application Packaging Toolsets, including application management lifecycle and the use of AdminStudio
  • Have a Strong understanding of all End User Management Suites (Active Directory / Azure AD / LANDesk / SCCM / Intune / MS 365 / MobileIron)
  • Possess a strong technical background in Scripting, preferably PowerShell
  • Can demonstrate a specialist technical background in Windows desktop operating systems
  • Demonstrates a strong technical background in automated Enterprise Software Delivery
  • Knowledge of Application Compatibility and other tools within the Application Packaging Workspace is desirable.
  • Excellent numeric and problem-solving skills.
  • ITIL methodology
  • Strong technical ability to deliver and manage End User Upgrades
  • Ability to transfer knowledge and approach to service excellence in a customer-facing environment.
  • Self-motivated approach to researching new technical concepts and emerging technologies.
  • Safety-first approach to applying changes on existing production systems.
