Digital Designer

We are looking for a Digital Designer to be based in our Northampton office in Brackmills Business Park. Working as part of a close knit UX team, you would have the opportunity to be part of our exciting Digital Programme as we go through a rapid period of change. This is a fixed term contract role for twelve months.

As a Digital Designer you will be part of the team accountable for the design our website including templates and components, mobile applications and digital marketing assets

Reporting to the Digital Design Manager, you’ll need to be a self-starter who uses their initiative and takes ownership for getting things done. As a digital designer you will create the high quality compelling graphic design and promotional content we need to make our on-site merchandising, digital marketing and email campaigns a cut above the rest.

You’ll be working closely with the print studio and merchandising team to ensure consistency can be achieved cross platforms throughout our landing pages, promotional banners, email and social campaigns. Providing digital design expertise and actively participating in creative workshops and design sessions. Therefore, you’ll need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work well in a team and comfortable asking for help when things are not clear.

 

Key skills and experienced required:

  • An intuitive understanding of design and a natural flair to make things look awesome.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI standards, design principles and usability factors.
  • Flexible and multi-discipline design skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe CC apps.
  • Good knowledge of Sketchapp
  • Ability to hand code HTML and CSS for responsive email design
  • Able to produce HTML5 animated banners either hand coded or using an application such as Adobe Animate
  • Knowledge of customer journey maps & personas.
  • Able to create working files that are clean and logical when handed over to others.
  • Good knowledge of Responsive Design.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a retail business or design agency working with large retail brands.
  • It would also be desirable if you had knowledge of lean UX and Agile Management.
