Graduate Finance Analyst

We are looking for a Graduate Finance Analyst Graduate to join our Finance team in Howden, East Yorkshire, to support with accurate financial reporting and analysis within our Operations team. Howdens is a FTSE 250 business undergoing an exciting period of transformation and growth, and this role offers a commercially focussed graduate, an excellent first step towards becoming a qualified Accountant.  We will provide you with on-the-job training, close mentoring from within our experienced finance team, and support you in your studies towards a CIMA qualification. To be successful in this role, you’ll enjoy and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adept at solving problems and challenges. 

As a Graduate Finance Analyst, you will have a clear and defined role with distinct responsibilities of your own to focus on, whilst working within a specific business area.  Your primary focus will be to partner with your key stakeholders in Operations and to ensure that financial reporting and analysis is delivered accurately and on time.  As a natural communicator, we will mentor you to develop strong relationships you’re your stakeholders to give you the ability to confidently articulate key points, and add support, challenge and advice.  You will also work on other finance projects, which will give you further opportunities for personal growth and development. 

Key skills and qualifications needed:

  • You will be about to graduate or a recent graduate, preferably with a relevant business or finance degree, but not essential
  • Good communicator with strong presentation skills both verbal and written.
  • Analytically minded with exceptional attention to detail
  • Customer-focused, with a strong delivery mindset
  • Improvement focussed, with an ability to see opportunities for refinement and efficiencies
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet targets and deadlines.
