Inclusion & Diversity Programme Manager

Purpose of this role

Are you passionate about inclusion and diversity? Do you want to impact the lives of millions of people by supporting the food and consumer goods industry to create inclusive cultures? We’re creating a new role to lead our inclusion and diversity programmes.

Responsibilities of this role

Our People programmes deliver social impact by supporting the food and consumer goods industry to foster a productive and inclusive workforce. We develop and run industry-wide programmes which help to attract and develop great people and create inclusive workplace cultures where everyone can thrive.

We are looking for someone to own and significantly scale-up our inclusion and diversity workstream, that supports everyone, from senior leaders to Line Managers and HR teams, to lead change.

Coming into this role you’re first step will be to accelerate our existing mentoring programme working closely with a wide range of industry stakeholders. After that, you'll take a strategic and creative approach, working with external stakeholders, to explore how IGD can best support our industry to create inclusive cultures where everyone can thrive.

This is a new role in IGD’s Social Impact team, and you’ll be accountable for:

  • Developing our inclusion and diversity workstream, delivering the annual roadmap and social impact KPIs
  • Project managing and scaling-up our cross-industry reverse mentoring programme, working closely with companies from across the industry
  • Managing the 121 relationships with our network of I&D industry leaders and facilitating group meetings
  • Creating and delivering content to inspire companies to lead change
  • Input into the annual business planning process for the Social Impact team and help inform long term strategic planning
  • Work with the Marketing & Comms team to help develop effective communications plans to raise awareness of and drive engagement with our inclusion and diversity programmes.

Knowledge/skills/qualifications required

  • Passion for working on the inclusion and diversity agenda
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Capable of working under pressure and adopting a flexible approach to meet changing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to manage networks of senior stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to drive programmes forward to deliver impact at scale
  • A team player with the ability to collaborate with colleagues across the organisation

Reporting Structure

You’ll work as part of our Social Impact team and report into the Director of People programmes. This role has no direct reports.

We are operating a hybrid approach to working with a mix of home and office-based working. The exact nature of this can be agreed with the line Manager.

Our People

We seek and attract the best people from the widest talent pool and create an environment that supports and includes them. We aim to encourage a culture where people can be themselves and be valued for their contribution. We therefore welcome applications from diverse candidates. This includes people with disabilities, so please discuss any adjustments that you may require throughout the selection and assessment process.
