Product Owner

Purpose of this role

Working within the wider Technology team, and reporting to the Director of Product Management, this critical role will help to design, develop and support features that meet and support IGD’s goals.

IGD manages its commercial and charity services with a dynamic and creative in-house technology team, and this role offers a high level of autonomy and exposure to multiple technologies and platforms. We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Product Owner who can work independently to manage our CRM and Data backlogs in particular, but also work as part of a wider Product team working across other internally and externally facing systems.

Responsibilities of this role

  • Manage the CRM and Data backlogs including:
    • Gathering, identifying, and prioritising business requirements
    • Creation of features, user stories and acceptance criteria in Microsoft Azure
  • Support the management of the web development backlog
  • Business case creation (where required)
  • Supplier selection and ongoing management
  • Functional specification and business rules definition
  • Process mapping and analysis
  • Conceptual design e.g. facilitating design sessions
  • Support Agile scrum processes
  • Stakeholder management
  • Work with the internal development team (or external suppliers) to agree appropriate technical solutions and development approach

Knowledge/skills/qualifications required


  • Experience Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems desirable
  • Working knowledge of Data-Management tools and methods
  • Experience with Azure DevOps desirable


  • Proven experience with Agile methodology, writing user stories, inputting to backlog
  • Knowledge of Agile (ideally SCRUM) project methodologies
  • Proven ability to proactively and collaboratively find, communicate and drive creative solutions to shared problems
  • Excellent analysis skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong influencing, negotiating and all-round communication skills
  • Professional diplomacy, discretion and integrity
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
  • Effective time management and task planning skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to delivering the needs of the role


We are operating a hybrid approach to working with a mix of home and office-based working. The exact nature of this can be agreed with the line Manager
