Marketing Executive - Online

The Marketing Executive is responsible for supporting the Senior Marketing Manager in creating, scheduling and executing all marketing activity for the strategically important business units of the commercial arm of IGD. This covers online subscription services including Retail Analysis, ShopperVista and Supply Chain Analysis.


They are responsible for developing and delivering multichannel marketing campaigns that achieve IGDs online commercial objectives, including new business acquisition, retention, website usage, customer engagement, and brand awareness and advocacy.




  • Work with Senior Marketing Manager to produce the annual marketing plans for IGDs online services
  • Deliver the annual marketing plans for IGDs online newsletters and lead generation strategy, managing timelines, messaging and creative to achieve the marketing targets set
  • Evaluate marketing campaigns against objectives to ensure effectiveness across acquisition and retention, drive continuous improvement through analytics and work with the digital analyst to create future recommendations
  • Develop a strong relationship across the research and sales teams to help alignment of message and campaign development
  • Grow brand awareness of and engagement with online services on social media channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
  • Deliver compelling weekly IGD newsletters working closely with research, content and creative teams
  • Create engaging and effective lead generation campaigns to support new business sales targets helping to build awareness of our online services
  • Working with the CRM team to produce targeted lists and segmenting audiences for outbound campaigns
  • Develop modern and creative visual identities for IGD online services that make our marketing campaigns and materials stand out from the crowd
  • Develop and own regular reporting for key stakeholders especially research and sales teams

Knowledge/skills/qualifications required

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of using digital channels including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google ads
  • Experience of creating, developing and monitoring lead generation strategies
  • Competent user of digital marketing technology including mailing programmes and social scheduling tools
  • A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong copywriting skills for email, web and social, with the ability to adopt tone of voice and brand guidelines
  • Effective time management and the ability to work across multiple projects at once is essential for this role
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to draw actionable insights from a variety of data
  • Knowledge of the FMCG industry is an advantage but not essential
  • An interest in creating content – written, graphics and video
