About you

We’re ideally looking for someone with:

  • Significant experience and knowledge in Linux server administration
  • Working experience and knowledge of data networks and communications
  • Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures

About the role     

Are you an experienced security engineer looking for the next step in your career?

As our new security engineer, you will be part of the team that modernises and automates our new and existing systems and services.

Another interesting part of your role will be maintaining Jisc’s internal infrastructure and systems, enabling the security of our own Janet network.

The Janet Network is the busiest National Research and Education Network (NREN) in Europe, carrying over 1.5 PBytes of information annually.

Location

This role will be based in Harwell.

Connecting with each other is a doddle, thanks to our technology, but getting face to face is something we value and find time for when we can, so you may need to travel on occasion. Our main offices are in Bristol, Harwell, London and Manchester.
