About the role                                

Working at Jisc as a developer puts you at the forefront of cutting-edge web design and implementation. Whether you code in Java, JavaScript or Python, this could be an excellent chance to develop your career.

You will be fundamental in delivering one of our key priorities. You’ll bring benefits to hundreds of learners and teaching practitioners in the FE & Skills sectors, by working and interacting with current and emerging web technologies and managing blogs (e.g. Wordpress).

These services currently include Hairdressing Training, Health & Social Care Training and Citizen Maths. You will play a pivotal role in delivering our vision. It is expected that this portfolio of services will grow with your help!

About you

We’re looking for a talented developer, who can:

  • Translate user requirements into the overall architecture, specification, design, and implementation of new systems, working with internal and/ or external providers.
  • Provide advice to, and work with technical members and/or customers across Jisc/ clients to ensure that products, services and project deliverables are of the required specification and expected quality.
  • Monitor the ongoing performance of relevant applications and infrastructure, and design, develop and implement reasonable changes to improve standards.

This role will be based in Manchester.

Jisc is a geographically-distributed organisation and travel across the UK may be required at times.
