Location: Home based with regular UK and international travel required.

Working pattern/hours: Full time & permanent. Normal working hours are 35 per week, excluding 1-hour main meal break.

About the role

Job purpose:

The purpose of the IBDM is to support the international growth of CompEx registrations in target markets. Undertaking research and analysis of key regions (MENA & Asia) the IBDM is responsible for building solid working relationships with stakeholder including employers, industry associations, regulators, practitioners, existing and potential Approved Training Providers (ATPs) to define the size of market opportunity. The IBDM will identify and exploit new commercial opportunities that support the profitable growth and diversification strategy of CompEx . The IBDM provide market insight to support product development and contribute to strategy development.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Grow international exam registrations, develop new revenue streams and partnership income
  • Undertake market research and data analysis to target key stakeholders in relevant markets
  • Manage and implement an engagement plan to develop direct working relationships with key customers.
  • Develop a contact matrix with key decision makers, including Learning & Development Mangers, Technical Authorities across relevant regions
  • Using need analysis identify customer requirements and present tailored proposals of CompEx qualifications, e-learning and CPD and membership programmes and the existing CompEx qualification framework
  • Identify new products and features based on customer feedback with the product and technical development teams.
  • Develop sales collateral and customer presentations in consultation with colleagues.
  • Propose, agree with HoBD and maintain KPIs for customer engagement , success criteria and to meet international growth objectives.
  • Provide customer feedback to contribute to strategy and product development
  • Identify and propose opportunities which enable direct sales to industry employers and ATPs
  • Provide regular reporting against agreed KPIs to the CompEx Head of Business Development.

 

Person specification:

Essential Requirements:

  • International business development in energy, and/or vocational education/ training setting
  • Commercial, technical or engineering qualification to at least degree or equivalent.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills including PowerPoint, Excel, Zoho CRM (or similar), etc…
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across different levels in an organisation and across different international cultural contexts
  • Valid Passport & Driving Licence.
  • Willing to travel regularly overseas – up to 50% of time

Desirable:

  • Experience in a technical or engineering environment
  • Established business relationship with major energy companies in the target region
  • Demonstrable understanding of the CompEx scheme.
