About the role

Job Purpose:

To lead the administration, development, and optimisation of JTL’s award-winning Learning Management System, LEDA (Learn, Educate, Develop, Advance), powered by Moodle Workplace. LEDA currently supports over 25,000 users and continues to expand as a strategic enabler of digital learning across the JTL Group.

As the senior subject matter expert, you will be responsible for ensuring that LEDA remains reliable, scalable, and innovative. This includes managing core LMS functions, content structures, user enrolment and support, data reporting, and system integrations. You will also play a key role in supporting the wider digital learning strategy and enhancing the user experience for learners, employers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • LMS Administration & Technical Oversight:
Oversee the daily operations of LEDA, including platform configuration, enrolment workflows, role permissions, tenant setup, and system maintenance. Coordinate software updates and plugin management with external providers such as Titus, ensuring platform stability and security.
  • Support, Stakeholder Engagement & Training:
Act as the primary point of contact for LMS-related queries and support requests. Provide timely first-line support to tutors, assessors, and internal teams. Deliver engaging training on key platform features—especially through clear documentation and self-service resources such as video walkthroughs—to empower users and ensure effective platform adoption.
  • Content & Course Management:
Manage the upload, organisation, and maintenance of structured learning content across the platform, including SCORM, H5P, CPD modules, and learning pathways. Ensure tagging, categorisation, and file formats adhere to accessibility and curriculum standards. Coordinate regular content audits.
  • Data, Reporting & Insights:
Produce and manage data reports related to learner engagement, platform usage, and compliance. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interactive dashboards (e.g. Power BI) for curriculum leaders and operational teams. Provide monthly updates and strategic insights to the Head of Curriculum and Digital Learning.
  • Platform Development & Enhancement:
Work closely with the Digital Product Manager to identify, test, and implement new features, plugins, and third-party integrations (e.g., authentication tools, LTI, xAPI). Support innovation in platform design while maintaining stability and a consistent user experience.
  • Governance, Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Uphold high standards for naming conventions, user roles, access levels, and content structures across all LEDA tenants. Monitor system logs and user activity to support audit readiness. Ensure compliance with data protection (GDPR) and internal governance requirements.
  • Professional Development & Sector Awareness:
Stay informed of developments in the LMS and EdTech landscape, including Moodle Workplace updates, AI-enabled learning journeys, and automation. Proactively contribute insights and suggest platform enhancements to keep JTL at the forefront of digital learning.
