Closing Date: 05 January 2019

DBS Required: Yes
Contract Type: Permanent
At JTL, we work with around 3,500 businesses and support over 6,000 apprentices, more than anyone else in the building services engineering sector. So how do we achieve that? To give our apprentices all the support they need we have created some of the most efficient and best-equipped Regional Training Centres in the country – places dedicated to producing the qualified plumbers, electricians and other craft technicians of the future.
So join our thriving Centre in Oxford as a Workshop Technician, and you will have the chance to help us deliver the best possible training as part of a professional and highly enthusiastic team.
If you are looking to come off the tools and develop your career in a vibrant Further Education environment, this could be the perfect role. You will provide full technical support to the Training Centre, using your expertise to keep our workshop areas clean and tidy, help prepare workshop sessions and maintain tools and equipment. You will also ensure safe working practices and look after the welfare of apprentices at all times. This will include acting as a First Aider and keeping all Health and Safety records up to date.
You must have at least an NVQ Level 2 Electrical or Plumbing with good IT skills and proven on the job experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work unsupervised are also important. An Assessor award qualification, IOSH or experience of delivering training would be an advantage, but are not essential. We will support you in completing the required TAQA assessor qualification as well as formal education and training qualifications – all of which open up the possibility of you becoming a tutor in the future.
In return, we can promise you attractive rewards, excellent career prospects and a working environment that is both varied and supportive. To discover more and apply online, please visit our website today.
