Location: Home Based with travel as and when required. 

This role is full time & permanent.

Job Purpose:

To support JTL’s Public Affairs & Communications team with the delivery of effective communications campaigns, both internal and external. The role’s primary focus will be producing new content for social media, press releases, JTL’s website and other digital channels, aiming to enhance our reputation with key external and internal target audiences, and contributing to a broader activity calendar.

Other key areas of responsibility lie in supporting the internal communications and event management functions, ensuring streamlined communications with a clear corporate voice.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support the Head of Public Affairs & Communications with the delivery of the JTL Group’s Communications (external and internal) Strategy, positioning JTL prominently in the skills sector and enhancing the organisation’s voice through contributions to industry news articles, thought-leadership placement, and horizon-scanning for profile-raising opportunities across a range of platforms
  • Draft engaging content for social media and JTL’s website primarily in relation to company news updates; apprentice case studies; organisational milestones and events, often translating complex information into digestible content for a range of audiences
  • Prepare internal communications updates for JTL staff, ensuring consistent corporate messaging, including newsletters, and working to increase the visibility of JTL’s senior leadership team
  • Support the team on internal and external events such as JTL centre openings and staff conferences, attending these events alongside key leads
  • Coordinate the marketing and communication of the external awards programme under the direction of the internal communications manager
  • Assisting with the running of internal and external surveys; producing outcomes reports for sharing with Executive Leadership Team.

 

Person Specification

Essential Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of communication best practice
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads and manage conflicting demands and deadlines
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of communications campaigns and social media to enhance brand awareness
  • Proven external resource management experience
  • Demonstrable experience building strong relationships with press and other stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Experience with communications tools including: Meta Business Suite, Meltwater, WordPress, Google Analytics, Mailchimp or similar platforms
  • Event management experience
  • Interest and knowledge of the apprenticeship and skills sector
