Do you know how to equip young people with the skills to compete for apprenticeships and other jobs? Can you deliver innovative training courses and work in partnership with schools, colleges and a range of key employment-related agencies? Then it’s time to join JTL. We are helping to drive the Government’s Traineeships Programme – and you could play a significant role in helping hundreds of young people to reach their personal best.
Working closely with the National Business Development Manager, you will prepare and plan for the effective delivery of traineeships to meet the needs of your region. This will involve more than just developing partnerships and business opportunities with educational institutions, local authorities, jobcentres and other stakeholders. You will personally deliver innovative training sessions that engage young people and equip them with employability skills in the areas of customer service, problem-solving and leadership. You will also coordinate the learners’ work placements and employer liaison – and work with local staff to make sure that effective tracking and administrative systems are in place. Actively exploring ways to expand our provision of services within the local employment market will, of course, be a part of your role.
Along with at least an NVQ Level 3 or two A Levels, you will need five good GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English. Your proven ability to deliver employability programmes in a post-16 environment must be supported by a training qualification (PTLLS, ITD or similar). Ideally you will also hold Assessor and Internal Verification qualifications (D32/D33/D34/A1 or V1/IQA), a teaching qualification or CTTLS or equivalent at level 3 or above.
But qualifications and technical skills are not enough. This relationship role calls for experience of working with referral agencies such as Jobcentre Plus, Trade Unions, Connexions and other career advice services. You will also have good IT skills, the ability to work independently, a driving licence and use of a car. And any knowledge of the Building Services Sector would, of course, be a distinct advantage
