This role will be reporting to the Managing Director of CompEx.

Job Purpose

The Head of Digital Transformation (HoDT) will drive the digital transformation initiatives across the CompEx Certification business that drive significant and material strategic outcomes over the next five years. The role will focus on enhancing both internal operational efficiency and the experience of candidates, practitioners and other external stakeholders. The role will lead the development and implementation of digital technology solutions to streamline processes, improve candidate experience, customer engagement, and ensure the organisation remains competitive in a rapidly evolving industry and at the forefront of EdTech. This position is pivotal in aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, encouraging innovation, and building a culture of continuous improvement. The HoDT will need demonstrate value for money and material return on investment for initiatives and projects.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Digital Strategy Development: Work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation strategy that aligns with the business goals of CompEx Certification.

Process Improvement: Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities for digital improvements for internal operations and external stakeholders (training providers, Employers, practitioners), focusing on automating manual processes, optimizing workflows, and reducing inefficiencies.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., IT, Operations, Qualifications, Quality), colleagues in the JTL group (IT, digital learning) and external stakeholders (e.g., employers, regulators, training providers, learners) to gather insights, understand needs, and deliver solutions that enhance the candidate and customer experience.

Project Leadership: Lead and sponsor cross-functional teams to implement digital transformation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Oversee project planning, risk management, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.

Technology Adoption: Identify and implement appropriate digital tools, platforms, and technologies that support business objectives, focusing on scalability, user experience, and data-driven decision-making.

Change Management: Act as a change agent to drive the adoption of new digital practices and tools across the organization. Develop communication plans, training programs, and support mechanisms to ensure smooth transitions.

Data, Analytics and Investment: Leverage data analytics to measure the impact of digital initiatives, monitor KPIs, and make informed recommendations for continuous improvement. Manage digital investments and ensure optimal ROI.

Innovation and Best Practices: Stay up to date with emerging technologies, EdTech and industry trends. Promote a culture of innovation by encouraging the exploration of new ideas and approaches. Provide thought leadership in digital technology and practices.

Compliance and Security: Ensure all digital initiatives comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices, particularly around data security and privacy. Regularly liaise with JTL group colleagues on matters related to cyber security and data security. Work with the CompEx compliance team to understand requirements placed on training providers and candidates.

Person Specification

Essential

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Digital Transformation, or a related field.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in leading digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in process improvement, change management, and driving cultural shifts within an organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into digital solutions.
  • Experience in implementing and managing digital platforms and tools.

Desirable

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Digital Transformation, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).

Skills and experience:

  • Experience within the certification, training, or technical standards industries.
    Knowledge of Agile or Lean methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the CompEx Certification process and related industry standards.
  • Previous experience with CRM systems, EdTech, e-learning, data analytics platforms, or process automation tools.
