Male Support Worker

Livability is looking for a Male Support Worker to support a gentleman in the Throckley area of Newcastle.

The successful candidate must be willing to:

  • Provide highest standard of professional and personal care and create an environment that will enable the person we support to have a best possible quality of life
  • Communicate with the person, using their preferred means of communication and encourage them to voice their own choices, needs and options freely.
  • Respond to the needs of the person so that they are able to make safe, informed choices. 

To be successful in this role you need to be compassionate and will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills. You will support this gentleman in exploring his newly developed interest in drama and technology, go for walks in the local community and beyond and enjoy music. Being chatty and humorous will help and so will being a good listener.

Working hours: Part time, including sleepovers. Shift patterns vary from 6pm-10pm + sleepover, 9am-2pm, and 12pm-10pm sleepover.

Potential to increase to full time hours.
