Purpose of role 

 

The role is to deliver sustainable and inclusive growth for London from Urban sector FDI clients.

 

To work closely with our international teams to help identify, nurture and persuade (new and existing) FDI clients to choose London for their international expansions and deliver GVA (contestable and non-contestable FDI projects).

 

To connect our FDI clients to help them grow in a resilient, sustainable and inclusive way in London.

 

Supporting the sector work and where relevant contributing to project work on sub-sectors.

 

Key Tasks 

 

  • To provide expert advice and support to international clients looking to invest in London and help make this happen as seamlessly and quickly as possible.
  • To deliver an FDI service is aligned with the L&P mission to generate economic growth that is resilient, sustainable and inclusive.
  • To manage an Urban sector inward investment pipeline through to completion (and on occasions “non-core” sector projects) and deliver FDI wins for London to achieve output targets, contributing Gross Value Add (including accelerated GVA) to the overall Business Growth target. 
  • To work closely with the international teams, to help nurture, develop and then successfully convert inward investment projects into wins
  • Development and delivery of bespoke client propositions, discussions and meetings.
  • To contribute to relevant Urban sector events and initiatives, working closely with colleagues across the wider Urban matrix team.  

You'll be/have: 

  • Education: degree level or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Eagerness to learn, develop and deliver in an international or global business environment. 
  • Understanding of the Urban sector and the sub-sectors within them would be an advantage.  
  • Able to establish good relationships with both internal and external networks, ideally at C-level that work to mutual benefit
  • Able to manage and deliver projects of work.
  • Able to contribute to developing innovative ideas into plans and solutions

The salary for this role has been approved as advertised in line with our pay structure.  We will not negotiate or vary this figure upon offer or appointment.

 Key responsibilities

  • To work closely with the international teams, to help nurture, develop and then successfully convert inward investment projects into wins by:  
  • Development and delivery of bespoke client propositions, discussions and meetings. 
  • Sharing sector knowledge, as well as access to networks such as industry leaders, trade bodies, universities and other centres of sector excellence.
  • To work closely with colleagues at DIT in London and overseas, particularly in markets where London & Partners does not have representation and the Investment Services Team.
  • To deliver referrals to partners in line with our Partnership our commercial agreements ensuring equitable split where necessary and tracking the referrals throughout.
  • To ensure CRM sales pipeline is maintained, accurate and up to date, contributing to accurate sector and company reporting as required.
  • To contribute to relevant Urban sector events and initiatives, working closely with colleagues across the wider Urban matrix team.
  • Undertake any other projects or special assignments which may from time to time be required.

 

Person Specification

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

 

Skills

 

  • Education: degree level or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Eagerness to learn, develop and deliver in an international or global business environment. 
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of products.   
  • Knowledge of CRMs would be an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of a foreign language would be an advantage. 
  • Understanding of the Urban sector and the sub-sectors within them would be an advantage.
