London Global Reputation Lead

Our key performance indicators are the economic growth (gross value added) and jobs that we create, the satisfaction of our clients and partners, and our commercial performance.  

 

Purpose of role 

As  London Global Reputation Lead you will lead the development and delivery of London’s reputation and narrative within our priority sectors and markets. You will establish and maintain a cross London coordination group bringing together a wide choir of London voices, sharing opportunities to tell a coherent global story. You will build London’s global reputation to support economic growth in the visitor economy and high-growth businesses.

 

The London Global Reputation Lead will champion the consistent reinforcement of our messages across internal and external stakeholders. You will have a keen interest in global business, consumer and political trends, and will understand how to adapt London’s core brand messages to different audiences and channels.

  

Key Tasks 

  • Lead and develop a consistent narrative for the city within London & Partners’ priority sectors and markets.
  • Set the direction and strategy for the London narrative across the organisation.
  • Working closely with our most important stakeholders in our priority sectors and markets, own and develop a London-wide grid to curate the best news stories that support the economic growth of London as a destination for events, visitors and high-growth businesses intent on scale.
  • In collaboration with the Head of Insights, gather 3rd party data to inform and refresh our messaging across all audiences. 
  • With the Head of Stakeholder Relations, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and partners to provide relevant London messaging and insights to support their own decision making and narrative.

  • With the Director of Communications, set appropriate targets and KPIs for the successful implementation of the London brand messaging across all our communications.
  • Grow the positive perception of London, creating a strong reputation baseline enabling London & Partners to develop financially sustainable models to expand the impact of our work.
  • Develop a communications plan that uses our channels, our partnerships and key stakeholders and advocates to distribute our London messaging, working closely with colleagues across the organisation
  • Strengthen our Good News Room advocacy programme to amplify our reach in relevant and authentic ways.
  • Work with colleagues in the Marketing and Destination Directorate to develop and deliver effective communications plans as part of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Use data and analytics to understand and track performance and to optimise activity over time.
  • Proactively build London & Partners’ network of influential advocates for the city, activating them in support of campaigns.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven track record of success in building brand reputation in complex sectors addressing multiple audiences, both domestic and international.
  • Demonstrable success in developing wide-reaching advocacy campaigns and effectively managing a broad stakeholder community
  • Experience and knowledge of social and digital amplification of content across multiple platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent strategic skills, developing insights supported by research and data
  • Highly effective influencing skills, including ability to successfully influence very senior individuals internally and externally
  • Highly developed understanding and experience of working with diverse stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Demonstrable ability to manage budgets and resources.
