Purpose of the Role

Working closely with the Business Growth Manager, to support the delivery and expansion of the programme which will include the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • In association with the Business Growth Manager, develop a recruitment strategy to shape the recruitment of companies to the programme including the creation of a pipeline of leads. Recruitment will need to be reflective of programme, sector and diversity targets.
  • Organise company introduction meetings and prepare onboarding paperwork, event attendances and completion paperwork for participating companies in compliance with ERDF guidelines.
  • Support the Business Growth Manager to attract and maintain fruitful relationships with new and existing mentors and stakeholders in the programme.

The salary for this role has been approved as advertised in line with our pay structure.  We will not negotiate or vary this figure upon offer or appointment.

Purpose of the Role

To support the Business Growth Manager with the delivery and expansion of the Business Growth Programme - a London & Partner’s initiative funded by the Mayor of London and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Contribute to team targets and to the wider company outputs.

Build relationships in the wide ecosystem and engage with startups supported by the Programme in various sectors and subsectors: Financial, Business Services and Technology; Creative Industries; and Urban, Innovation and Life Science.

Key Responsibilities

  • In association with the Business Growth Manager, develop a recruitment strategy to shape the recruitment of companies to the programme including the creation of a pipeline of leads. Recruitment will need to be reflective of programme, sector and diversity targets.
  • Organise company introduction meetings and prepare onboarding paperwork, event attendances and completion paperwork for participating companies in compliance with ERDF guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records for participating companies, mentors and stakeholders throughout engagement using organisation’s data management systems, including and not limited to Salesforce, Eventbrite, Slack, Sharepoint.
  • Work closely with the Business Growth Manager, and sector teams to plan and deliver sector specific events, such as roundtables, corporate engagement activities, panels discussions and pitch events.
  • Support the Business Growth Manager to attract and maintain fruitful relationships with new and existing mentors and stakeholders in the programme.
  • Attend sector focused events in London to extend knowledge, generate leads for the programme, represent the Business Growth Manager, where required and be an advocate for London & Partners. (Please note some events will be outside of normal office hours.)

In addition, the Business Growth Executive will be expected to contribute to the wider BGP Team’s activities, including:

  • Assist with the delivery of the programme’s programme of events, where required. This may include and not limited to procurement of suppliers, setting up the space, managing reception, looking after attendees and organising catering.
  • Contribute to one or more of the team’s improvement projects; this could be to improve our processes or the offer for participating companies.
  • Work transparently and collaboratively with colleagues in the team and wider teams at London & Partners and associate organisations.
  • Represent the BGP Team, the Trade and Growth Directorate and London & Partners at events, where required.

  • Experience of project-based work.
  • Financial Business Services and Technology and/or Creative industries and/or Urban Innovation and Life Science sector experience or knowledge and experience of working with SMEs would be valuable.
  • An interest in economic development in London and an ability to pick up new subject areas quickly.
  • Attention to detail, good problem solving skills and ability to prioritise effectively.
