Background

London & Partners is the Mayor of London’s official promotional agency. We promote London and attract businesses, events, congresses, students and visitors to the capital. Our aims are to build London’s international reputation and to attract investment and visitor spend, which create jobs and growth. 

It is our privilege to promote London around the world, working in partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA), Department of Trade & Investment (DIT), VisitBritain and other destination marketing organisations, the London boroughs and many other key stakeholders, as well as our 1,000-plus private sector partners.

Our target audiences are leisure and business tourists, the travel trade, event organisers, overseas businesses and investors, and prospective higher education students. Our marketing and promotional activities are designed to encourage visits, investments and spend in London now, as well as building London’s reputation to support its long term success. Our mission is to tell London's story brilliantly. 

We are a not-for-profit public private partnership, funded by the Mayor of London and our network of commercial partners.

Purpose of role

The Partnerships Marketing Manager, Education & Talent, works with educational and commercial partners to maximise their engagement with London & Partners, and with Study London and its channels. For educational institutions, the postholder will be responsible for identifying, shaping and delivering collaborative inititatives that promote London as a global centre for HE; and for facilitiating HE-to-business introductions and other linkages across London & Partners. For commercial partners, the postholder will seek out and manage opportunities to generate profits to be reinvested in our work for London.

Key tasks

  • Work with the Director, Education & Talent to develop partnership proposals that drive engagement and generate profit.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders from the HE sector, developing partnerships that support London & Partners’ objectives and Study London channels.
  • Manage data collection and storage for the HE sector, ensuring data is legally stored, regularly updated and appropriately used.
  • Manage a programme of stakeholder communication, including the stakeholder newsletter.
  • Lead on the identification and execution of high-value advertising and promotional initiatives with HE institutions and commercial partners
  • Ensure commercial proposals are competitive, compelling, and validated by robust insight and research.
  • Monitor campaign results for clients and recommending optimisation strategies where relevant.
  • Work with the Campaigns and Content directorates to identify business opportunities arising from their business activities and networks.
  • Work with the Content and Channels Directorate to flag content opportunities for, and where appropriate deliver, HE content.
  • Work with the Campaigns Directorate to create collaborative campaigns with HE institutions and others.
  • Scope and deliver a programme of events and other stakeholder activities that drive engagement.
  • Stay abreast of the international market for London education, monitor trends and assess changes and developments.
