London & Partners is London’s international trade, investment and promotion agency. Purpose of role
The London & Partners Berlin office is seeking interns for a period of 3 months, with possible extension to six months, over the next 12-month period.
You will learn about the work of London & Partners, the official promotional agency for the Mayor of London. In particular, you will run social media channels, gain insight into the workings for the British diplomatic missions in Germany, in particular the Department for International Trade (DIT) and you will have the opportunity to network directly with a wide range of London and German companies and officials.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
During the internship, you will gain insight into, and become actively involved in a variety of areas related to trade and investment promotion such as:
You will regularly participate in market research tasks, both on a regular and ad hoc basis. The regular research will consist of desk research on potential leads and clients, where you will qualify their relevance and share your work with the rest of the team. Importantly, much of your research will involve markets additional to Germany (I.e. Switzerland, the Netherlands and Sweden), and will see you provide insights into the tech ecosystem, stakeholders and clients. There will be a chance to build up knowledge of these ecosystems and help develop a strategic outreach approach.
You will organise and manage the day-to-day operation of all social media channels. Alongside the Business Development Associate, you will develop, plan and create content and grow our social media network and presence. Equally, you will ‘trans-create’ social media messaging provided from the London Headquarters, so that it is suitable for our German audiences. You will also help the team in ‘social listening’, understanding what our audiences are talking about and sharing on social channels to their networks, and using this insight to help direct our social efforts. Conversational German is therefore required.
You will assist with general sales administration and management by maintaining the CRM system, assisting in client presentations and keeping the finances up-to-date for the office. You will also support the team in their work across wider European territories, through inputting data, organising travel and coordinating schedules.
Support Lead Generation
You will contact and engage with appropriate targets in order to secure meetings with established companies in all sectors: ICT, creative, life sciences, healthcare, energy, gaming, retail, entertainment, financial services, etc. London & Partners works closely with many channel partners and also undertakes lead generation work in-house.
