Purpose of role 

 

The primary function of this position is to source, develop and maintain relationships with innovative businesses in North America that are considering expansion into Europe. Your primary focus will be on the Northwest (Bay Area and Pacific Northwest) region of the US, and Western Canada.  In this role you promote London as the preeminent base for European operations and connect these businesses with our commercial partners who will assist them in establishing a presence in London.

 

Another key part of this role is to work with London companies exploring opportunities in the Northwest (Bay Area and Pacific Northwest) region of the US, and Western Canada including through trade missions from London, and to contribute to the planning of these visits and those by dignitaries and senior representatives from London.  Additional tasks will be assigned as required with the overarching goal of facilitating investment and trade between London and North America. 

In addition to the above this position provides administrative support to the team, including CRM maintenance, internal reporting, travel arrangements and general support as needed. 

The role enables engagement with senior leaders from the private and public sectors in North America and London. It also provides the opportunity to build expertise in our core sectors and forge relationships with key stakeholders in your region and in London.

 

Key Tasks 

  • The primary function of this role is to identify, contact and engage with senior stakeholders at companies in the region who are considering expansion into Europe. 
  • Advising London companies as they explore opportunities in North America, including through inbound trade missions to the US and Canada for the Mayor’s International Business Program (MIBP).
  • Creating client presentations.
  • Assisting in marketing campaigns.
  • Schedule planning for senior members of the London & Partners’ team.

Key tasks

Lead Generation

 

  • The primary function of this role is to identify, contact and engage with senior stakeholders at companies in the region who are considering expansion into Europe. These will primarily be across our core sectors: Finance, Business Services & Technology, Creative, Innovation & Life Sciences, and Urban.
  • The successful candidate will be required to think independently and develop their own lead generation strategy.

 

Business Development Support

 

  • Working with senior colleagues in client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Advising London companies as they explore opportunities in North America, including through inbound trade missions to the US and Canada for the Mayor’s International Business Program (MIBP).
  • Creating client presentations.
  • Assisting in marketing campaigns.
  • Schedule planning for senior members of the London & Partners’ team.
  • Maintaining the CRM system (Salesforce) and other reporting tools.
  • Managing general admin and reporting data.


Skills & Experience

 

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

 

  • Background: professional experience in sales, marketing or an equivalent role and enjoy working in a target driven business.
  • Lead Generation: proven experience of generating leads through own efforts, networking, email campaigns, etc.
  • Computer Literate: knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential. Experience with Salesforce is preferable.
  • Enthusiasm & Drive: bringing energy and positivity ito the role.
  • Mobility: Occasional travel throughout the US and potentially the UK, may be required. This role is based in San Francisco/Bay Area, and candidates must have the right to reside and work in the US.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Presentation Skills: should be able to pitch and present to a range of audience sizes.
  • Sector Knowledge: should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for emerging tech sectors and be able to liaise credibly with stakeholders at disruptive companies.
  • London/UK: knowledge, experience and passion for London is highly desirable, as well as knowledge and experience of the US Northwest region/Canada
