The successful candidate will join a small but busy team who have recognised expertise in dealing with rural properties and have represented clients in the purchase and sale of Estates, Farms, and Woodlands and also in connection with agricultural leases and sporting, fishing and crofting interests.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate can expect to be involved in working on:-

  • Advising clients on the acquisitions and sales of rural properties (including estate, farms and forests), sporting and fishing rights, minerals and option agreements, residential property matters and commercial contracts throughout Scotland;
  • Dealing with renewable energy option agreements, servitudes, leases of farmland and other rural properties;
  • Acting for clients in respect of crofting matters;
  • Dealing with voluntary registrations of Estates and other rural properties. 

The type of work is broad ranging, stimulating and often innovative. The successful candidate will also be involved in the preparation and delivery of research and training from time to time and in networking activities generally.  Commercial awareness is essential.

 Experience Required

We are interested in meeting candidates with upwards of 5 years PQE in Scots law who can demonstrate experience in this specialist area

In addition to being able to demonstrate the relevant experience, the successful candidate will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; attention to detail; ability to handle a busy and varied workload; have an enthusiastic approached to work and enjoy working in a team environment.
