Fixed Term Project Lead, Croydon Short Breaks Social Clubs . 3 hours per week

We are looking for a Project Lead to oversee our Short Breaks Social Clubs and Day Outings projects in Croydon and the surrounding areas. Working in close partnership with the Short Breaks manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing support and line management to Lead Project Workers and volunteers within Resource Centre Short Breaks projects.
  • Planning fun, interactive and engaging activities for autistic children and young people, ensuring they are resourced, and effectively communicated to the Lead Project Workers who will deliver them.
  • Being creative and resourceful, finding ways in which we can provide the highest standard of service within the available resources.
  • Implementing an assessment process to track the development of social skills for our children and young people, and making amendments to project activities where necessary to ensure maximum benefit for the people we support.
  • Ensuring the highest standard of service delivery, and shaping services to meet the need of autistic children and young people.
  • Supporting recruitment and induction of Lead Project Workers and volunteers.
  • Ensuring the online database is up to date, and providing monitoring information for each service.

We need you to be resilient, supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people and their families, and to understand the pressures on the team who provide short break and social skills groups across the area.  

  • This position is offered on a part time basis of 3 hours per week to be worked as agreed with you at interview. The role will be fixed term and offered for 1 year initially
  • You must have 2 years of experience working with autistic children and/or young people.
  • Qualifications at a degree level or equivalent are desirable.
  • Additional training and support will be provided.
