Since 1962 the National Autistic Society has been campaigning to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. In National Programmes we champion the rights and interests of autistic people and their families, making sure national policy and legislation reflects their needs. We provide autism training and best practice services and want all autistic people to have access to services and support that fully meet their needs. We provide diagnostic services, training, accreditation, consultancy and conferences, designed to support all professionals and organisations.

Role purpose:

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our charity’s mission by creating evidence-based advice and guidance content that is engaging, accessible and meets the needs of autistic people, their families and the wider public. 

 

The National Autistic Society is the UK’s leading autism charity and a trusted provider of autism information and support. As our new Copywriter (Advice and guidance), you will be part of our charity’s mission to:

  • transform lives by providing support, information and practical advice
  • change attitudes by improving public understanding of autism.

Responsibilities: 

As Copywriter (Advice and guidance), you will write and edit evidence-based content about autism for external and internal audiences. Your work will be part of our advice and guidance content process.

You will focus mainly on writing our public-facing advice and guidance web pages, creating practical resources (e.g. Autistic sensory experiences) and collaborating with other teams to produce video and social media content (e.g. by writing questions and conducting interviews, editing video scripts, drafting text for social media assets, etc).

You will also review and edit content that includes advice and guidance produced by other internal teams to ensure consistency with our evidence base. This may include content for campaigns, press, marketing and special projects.

This is a full-time, permanent role. Flexible working patterns will be considered.
