Who we are looking for:
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Speech and Language Therapist to work closely with our trans-disciplinary team (Occupational Therapist, Behaviour Specialists and Specialist Teaching Staff). Experience of working with a variety of children with a diagnosis of ASC is desirable. The Clinal Lead for SaLT from within the NAS will provide regular clinical support and professional development.
We need you to be resilient, supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people. Being a Speech and Language Therapist takes bravery, patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return.
You may have a personal connection, a desire to work with or real life experiences working with autistic people. You might not have lots of experience yet, but if you share our values and are willing to make a difference to the lives of autistic people, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities will include:
- Training teaching and support staff
- Providing direct and indirect therapeutic input to both school and residential settings
- Having a working knowledge of a variety of relevant teaching/therapy approaches.
You must be RCSLT and HPC registered.
