Full Time Senior Support Worker, New Barns Supported Living, Kenny Hill, Suffolk

We are looking for a senior support worker to work in our supported Living services in New Barns, Kenny Hill, Suffolk. You’ll be working with autistic adults who live independently ensuring support and activities are meaningful to each individual

We support the residents to develop their skills and independence, Residents attend social clubs, enjoy cooking and arts and crafts at home, enjoy days out, listening to music and holidays

As a Senior Support Worker, you will support a small team of support workers and your line manager, to ensure the support we provide helps those whom we support to achieve the everyday breakthroughs they wish to achieve.

You will have a working knowledge of care standards and related legislation and have good report writing skills. You should be able to demonstrate how you are able to lead and motivate a team to reach agreed outcomes and uphold the values of the organisation.

You should have a relevant NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification or be willing to work towards this within a given time period. You must be willing to work flexibly

Being a senior support worker takes passion, patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return.

The role includes:

  • Supporting adults to achieve their goals.
  • To guide, prompt, support individuals to undertake activities and learn new skills.
  • To be part of a team around key individuals.
  • Support with mentoring, development and supervision of team members.
  • Assist with day-day management of running the service.
  • To be aware of the role of the relevant care regulatory body (CQC) and the statutory standards required for the work setting.
  • Assist to develop and maintain a responsive support service to people with autism.

Hours of Work:  37 hours per week. We promote a flexible rota system to create a healthy work/life balance for our staff.

We offer a competitive salary , overtime opportunities paid at an enhanced rate of £12.67 per hour and a sleep in premium at £50 per night for staff.
