About the role:

NRC Australia is currently hiring a skilled Asset Management & Maintenance Technical Specialist with proven experience with traction power and overhead line (OHL) systems to join our growing team based in Brisbane, QLD.

This is a unique opportunity to work across diverse rail infrastructure projects, providing expert asset management and maintenance advice. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders to deliver high-value solutions that meet safety, quality, and performance standards.

What you will be involved in:

  • Lead operational & maintenance needs analysis using Life Cycle Cost (LCC) modelling.
  • Support system requirements, testing, and validation activities.
  • Provide technical input across asset lifecycle and bid/project delivery.
  • Develop standards, procedures, and training materials.
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of technical reports and solutions.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in the rail industry and understanding of railway infrastructure assets.
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area, or extensive experience.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
  • Ability to translate client needs into practical solutions.
  • Excellent IT proficiency, including MS Office.

Desirable:

  • Experience of using Enterprise Asset Management Systems (such as Ellipse, Maximo, SAP) in the rail sector is an advantage.
  • Membership of relevant professional body.
  • Experienced in engineering management in a safety critical industry.
  • Asset Management Qualifications.
