The Role

Following the appointment of a Head of therapy working across Horizons and College, we are now looking for an experienced Speech and language therapist to join the already established lead physiotherapy and occupational therapy colleagues.

This post will provide an exciting opportunity to work in a collective leadership team to develop even further the Speech and language offer and promote a transdisciplinary working model across Horizons and College 

 The post holder will be expected to provide input to a caseload of people with complex speech, language and communication and dysphagia needs alongside leading and developing the service offer in line with best practice and evidence-based guidance.

Speech and Language Therapists within the Horizons and college multidisciplinary approach to service delivery play a vital role in optimising independence, lifelong learning and transferring this knowledge and skills into everyday life. The passion shared by the team to help service users and students reach their personal aspirations and ambitions is the driving force of the Percy Hedley Foundation offer and underpins everything we do. Providing more specialist services by supporting service users and their families with specialist interventions such as AAC, Intensive Interaction, Sensory Programmes enables this dream to become a reality.

You would become part of an existing, dedicated and growing team of therapists who strive to deliver best practice at all times. ​With regular Away days as a therapy team, your chance to be able to shape together our future offer and increase opportunities, advance practice and meet the ever-changing needs of those we support is an intrinsic part of this role. The successful candidate will provide day to day management of the Speech and Language therapy team and inspire them to deliver an outstanding Speech and Language service.
