EYFS Teacher - Percy Hedley School

Who Are We?
The Percy Hedley Foundation is one of the largest regional charities supporting people with a range of learning and physical needs. We take a person centred, flexible approach to the care and support we provide.

We work towards excellence every day and our team members are committed to delivering the very best outcomes for the people we support. Our dynamic and flexible service is tailored to the specific needs of the individual, making it easier to live, learn and be part of a world adapting to change.

Percy Hedley School specialises in working with two distinct groups of children who have cerebral palsy and/or speech, language and communication difficulties and other complex difficulties including ASD, dyspraxia, dyslexia, and ADHD. We set out to make a difference to the learning, wellbeing, and future life chances of children. Teachers, Therapists and Learning Support Assistants work together in trans-disciplinary teams to meet the individual needs of every pupil. Together, we believe we can unlock each child’s potential and support achievement for all.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced teacher to join our lower school. The successful candidate will work across all primary age groups but must have experience leading the EYFS curriculum. A key focus of this role will be bridging the gap between EYFS students and those working at that level in the higher key stages.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work with young children from both of our cohorts of pupils – those with profound and complex needs, severe learning difficulty and/or medical condition, sensory impairment and/or physical disability as well as those with difficulties with sensory processing, communication and self-help skills, to be able to prepare them for the skills to progress onto one of two learning pathways - pre-formal (Learning Skills Through Engagement) or semi-formal to formal (Experiential Language Topic Based Approach – ELTBA). The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading and managing a team of staff.

The successful candidates will receive extensive support and continued professional development opportunities. ECT teachers will not be considered for this post.
