Apple Tree House is a 3 bedroom, Ofsted Registered ‘Good’ children’s home for children with learning disabilities, with the potential to become ‘outstanding’.
Apple Tree House is a well-run, attractive home in a residential area. Our home is within walking distance of Weymouth town centre, and we have great transport links both by bus and train. The home is a large spacious house with lots of space and a homely feel, that helps support our young people to feel safe.
The ages of the children that live with us can range between 8 and 18.
What you’ll be doing:
- To work with the service manager to support the 24-hour management of the service, ensuring that all aspects of care and service delivery is focused on meeting the needs of the children we support.
- To deputise for the service manager in their absence.
- To provide supervision, supporting and developing of staff. Monitoring, coordination and day to day management of the team.
- Manage day-to-day staffing, resources of the service and ensuring rotas are planned.
- Help and co-operate in effective management of staff budgets by careful organisation.
- Participate in on-call rota to provide managerial support.
Who you are:
- Experience in a senior role required.
- Substantial experience working with adults or children with learning disabilities and or autism is required.
- Ideally hold an NVQ level 3 or equivalent and willing to work towards level 5.
- A highly motivated leader that will promote a ‘can do’ culture.
- Flexibility is needed.
