Support Worker

We are pleased to announce we have an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Support Worker.

Bay House in Weymouth is an OFSTED registered service that provides specialist residential short breaks for children with moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, and associated behavioural challenges, physical disabilities, and sensory impairment.

There are currently 22 children who enjoy the support of short breaks, with ages ranging from 6 years old to 17 years old.

Closing date: 02/07/25, will close earlier should a suitable applicant be found.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Our young people have a mix of interests and different levels of independence, you will be supporting them with daily tasks to increase their confidence levels and everyday skills.
  • You will support the children to have fun and engage in learning.
  • You will be cooking, cleaning, and supporting with everyday tasks, depending on the child’s ability.
  • You will be providing personal care.
  • You will be willing to take part in activities within the service and out in the community. 

Who you are:

  • Experience working with children would be desirable, but not essential.
  • You are enthusiastic and compassionate about working with children. 
  • You are motivated, flexible, and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Drivers preferred but not essential.
