Support Worker

We are pleased to announce we have an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Support Worker.

Westward is a residential service located in Dawlish, Devon, for 7 individuals with learning disabilities with associated mental health needs and behaviours that can challenge. Our service provides both long and short-term residential care.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Promoting independence.
  • Taking part in the chosen activities of the people we support.
  • Administering medication.
  • The role will involve assisting with personal care, domestic support, preparing meals, updating our internal systems, reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and monthly reports.
  • Shift times are between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm. Weekend and Bank holiday working is required.
  • Sleep ins and Waking Nights may be required at times.

Who you are:

  • Caring and passionate about a role in social care.
  • Team player.
  • Motivated with a “can do” attitude.
  • Previous experience working with challenging behaviours is preferred but not essential. 
  • Drivers preferred.
