Senior Support Worker

Can you provide the right attitude and motivation to make a difference in our service users lives daily?

Providing specialised support to 13 adults with learning disability, physical disabilities, and mental health needs. Kensington Hall is located in the village of South Hetton

Can you support the staff to demonstrate progress and positive change in our service users lives? Our tenants are aged 13 some with complex health needs.

Our service is recovery focused, empowering the people we support to progress into living independent lives and feel included into their community. Many of the people we support require assistance to engage in activities within the local community, staff support is focused around boosting morale, increasing levels of skills and learning new skills.  The right applicant would have enthusiasm to motivate the people we support to rebuild their confidence and assist them to see a bright future for themselves.

  • Hourly rate: £9.24
  • 37 hours 
  • Registration cover’s adults only.
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role, cost is paid for by employer.

The purpose of our support is to demonstrate outcomes for our tenants. To maximise their potential and build on their daily living skills with the aim to live independently reducing the need of mental health services.

We set out these goals by completing the recover star with all our tenants and setting achievable goals for their future.

Mental Health knowledge is preferred however not essential as all training will be provided.

The job role will include lone working so you must have confidence to adhere to this, competency will be completed, and a robust induction will be completed prior to you being required to do this.

We are aware that this job isn’t for everyone, it’s through determination and a passion for the work we do that makes us an outstanding team. The job can be challenging but extremely rewarding when outcomes are being achieved through our work.

Motivation is extremely important as motivation always starts with us the staff team, you must be flexible and susceptible to change, we operate on a person-centred view and we enjoy taking lead and ideas from the tenants we support.

Due to the nature of our company all staff will be required to undertake a DBS check and referencing, The DBS will be either 1) Standard 2) Enhanced 3) Enhanced with Barred List Check, this will be service and role specific and can be discussed pre application if required
