Support Worker
We are pleased to announce we have an exciting opportunity here at Potens for Support Workers.
Must be a driver due to the needs of the service, with a full, clean manual driver's license.
William House is a brand-new supported living scheme in Darlington which provides specialist support for up to 8 individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism. William House staff members support adults (18+) to live independently in a wonderful location, which is close to amenities and recreational opportunities. All staff members receive thorough inductions and are led by an experienced and dedicated manager. Support hours for people we support vary according to individual care plans, and support is tailored around specific skills and needs.
What we’ll give you:

- £12.21 per hour.
- Full time 40 hours per week.
- Shifts will be between the hours of 7 am and 10 pm. Shifts can change to suit the needs of the people we support, so flexibility is a must. Sleep-ins, weekend and bank holiday working will be required.

What you’ll be doing:
- Promoting independence and supporting with daily activities.
- Taking part in the chosen activities and interests of the people we support, both within the service and out in the community.
- Personal care.
- Supporting with finances, budgets, and shopping.
- Supporting one to one.
Who you are:
- Shifts can change to suit the needs of the people we support, so flexibility is a must.
- The successful candidate will have the aptitude, desire, and commitment to work in social care with adults with a variety of needs.
- Flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Motivated and a team player.
- Experience working in a social care setting supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism is preferred but not essential.
