An exciting time to join the Planning & Performance team, with significant investment made to elevate the long-term financial planning and analysis capability in the organisation.

The primary purpose of the role is to work in a dedicated financial modelling team to design, build, and implement new financial forecasting capability as part of an ambitious programme to make improvements in multiple areas of our forecasting estate. The role combines financial expertise with technical proficiency to create accurate and reliable models that facilitate strategic insights and drive business performance.

The successful candidate with collaborate with stakeholders across different departments to understand their modelling needs and requirements, utilising advanced Excel functionality, financial modelling software, and programming languages (such as VBA, SAS, Python, or R) to build robust and scalable models.

The role is pivotal to linking strategic objectives to the corporate planning process, support decision making and manage risk through non-IRB forecasting.

Taking complex financial concepts and translating them in a straightforward manner through excellent communication skills is a key requirement. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to produce clear and transparent governance documentation and consult with second line colleagues to maintain compliance and action improvements.

What you will bring to the role

A technical role, the holder will need:

  • Experience building and maintaining complex financial models.
  • Excellent modelling, analytical and interpretation skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to extract, manipulate and analyse data from databases.
  • Ability to create data models and improve processes through efficient use of coding language highly desirable (e.g. SQL, VBA, SAS, Python, R etc)
  • Effective communication and the ability to translate complex ideas into user friendly models and documentation.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders to optimise outcomes.
  • Comfortable with ambiguous situations and expected to bring innovative solutions to problems.
  • Degree qualified in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Finance, Computing or Engineering
