We’re looking for a highly experienced Infrastructure Resilience Lead, to provide senior technical leadership across resilience, recoverability and capacity.

This is a critical role focused in ensuring our technology platforms are designed to withstand failure and recover safely with defined tolerances. You’ll take ownership of the technical reality or resilience – moving us away from reactive incident response and towards proactive, design-led resilience.

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, you’ll operate as a senior individual contributor, acting as the technical counterpart to the manager.

🔧 What you’ll be doing:
•    Own resilience-by-design across infrastructure platforms (on-prem, cloud and hybrid), including backup, restore, failover and recovery architecture
•    Define and maintain dependency mapping and recovery sequencing for critical services
•    Lead hands-on resilience testing, including disaster recovery exercises, restore testing and failure scenario rehearsals, ensuring outcomes are evidenced and actioned
•    Ensure RTO/RPO targets are realistic, evidence-based and technically achievable
•    Own capacity planning and forecasting, ensuring platforms scale safely under load and during failure scenarios
•    Identify and mitigate capacity-related risks early, embedding monitoring, thresholds and early-warning indicators
•    Improve the quality and usability of runbooks, recovery procedures and technical documentation, reducing reliance on key individuals
•    Act as a senior escalation point for complex resilience and recovery scenarios
•    Embed resilience into design, change and release processes, working closely with engineering, operations and governance teams
•    Provide technical input into risk, audit and operational resilience discussions
✅ What you’ll bring:
•    Deep expertise in resilience engineering, including high availability, failover, DR architecture and recovery sequencing
•    Strong knowledge of core infrastructure platforms (compute, storage, networking, identity) across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments
•    Hands-on experience designing and delivering disaster recovery and resilience testing
•    Proven ability in capacity planning and performance analysis, using data to inform decisions
•    Experience with automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep) to embed resilience into systems
•    Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM practices across incident, problem and change management
•    Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, risk and audit teams, translating technical concepts clearly
•    A mindset that designs for failure, with a healthy scepticism of untested assumptions
🎯 It’s a bonus if you also have:
•    Experience in UK financial services or another regulated environment
•    Understanding of operational resilience frameworks (e.g. PRA, ICARA, important business services)
•    Relevant certifications (Azure, VMware, Cisco, storage platforms)
•    ITIL Practitioner/Specialist or resilience-related qualifications
