Principality Building Society is embarking on a period of significant transformation over the next 3 - 5 years. This role will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for delivering data capabilities across the organisation. This is a unique opportunity, that will see the successful candidate be part of building a great tech solution to support our members and colleagues.  

 

As our Head of Data Services, you will be responsible for leading the;

 

Data strategy:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation’s data infrastructure, including data warehouses, lakes, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Manage data lifecycle processes, including data acquisition, storage, processing, and archiving

 

Governance:

  • Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, compliance, and security
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including GDPR, FCA guidelines, and other financial services regulations

 

Product & Services

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for data services.

 

Engineering and Analytics

  • Collaborate with business units to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) & Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and metrics to measure success.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive business performance and innovation.

 

Technical Skills we are looking for:

 

  • Product Ownership: Strong experience in managing the lifecycle of data products, from ideation to launch and beyond.
  • Delivery Management: Proven track record of delivering complex data projects using agile methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the regulatory environment within the UK financial services sector.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Leadership: Be a leader both within function & across the organisation. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team.

 

 

 

This position combines the strategic transformation of Data Capabilities with the operational management of data services, ensuring data integrity, accessibility and security.
