We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Protection Analyst to provide advice, assistance, and oversight to the organisation in relation to complex matters, promote compliance and responsible Data Protection practices, and support in the development of a team of Data Protection analysts.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide risk-based advice, assistance and oversight on complex Data Protection matters, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure that Data Protection requirements are considered at all stages of projects, products, and initiatives.
  • Undertake and review complex Data Protection Impact Assessments, supporting with risk identification and mitigation, ensuring that levels of risk are correctly determined and that controls are appropriate.
  • Deliver training, resources, and awareness-raising across the organisation to promote compliance, organisation policies, and responsible Data Protection practices.
  • Conduct oversight and testing in respect of all aspects of Data Protection control effectiveness to ensure that existing controls are effective and new controls identified proactively.
  • Support with the maintenance and development of the Data Protection policy framework, taking into account developments within Data Protection sector and other associated areas.
  • Provide guidance and advice to Data Protection analysts in relation to complex matters and support development through mentoring.
  • Work closely with the Data Protection Officer to assess and advise on Data Protection incidents and any necessary follow-up actions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience of working within a Data Protection or Privacy function.
  • Extensive working knowledge of UK Data Protection legislation (including UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, PECR) and ICO guidance.
  • Experience of working within the Financial Services sector or similar regulated industry, including an understanding of risk management practices.
  • A recognised Data Protection or Privacy qualification (e.g. BCS, PDP or IAPP), or the appetite to complete relevant studies within 12-month period.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to mentor colleagues.
  • A confident communicator, able to guide and influence senior stakeholders in the importance and adoption of responsible Data Protection practice.
  • A keen desire for continuous improvement in the delivery of organisation and team objectives.
